I am a graphic artist and web designer located in Nashville, TN. I have 10 years of solid experience in the industry, and I am flexible with logo development, print media, and web design to provide a seamless union of all mediums. It's my passion to help clients re-invent the spirit of their brand through design, or create a completely new brand from the start.

the power of one

There is one employee at Nathan Grimes Design: me. It's very common for graphic designers to wear all the hats at their company. It's also very common for them to use words like "us", "our", and "we" to describe their company. Who can blame them? It's scary running your own business.

a unique approach to the customer experience

I met my first client while on vacation in 1998. At the time, I didn't know he was going to become my client. We were at a hotel, lounging in the pool. We struck up a conversation and eventually got on the topic of web design. Before I knew it, I had snagged my first job.

That was a decade ago, and there is one universal rule that has applied to every single project since - customers want to be treated like humans, not dollars. I firmly believe in building a lasting relationship with each of my clients. I want every one of them to feel as comfortable and relaxed as they would lounging in a pool on vacation.

Life can be too full of pressure and stress as it is. I work to make your experience with me fun and enjoyable, while still focusing on the goals and tasks at hand.

the history of an icon

I've gained a reputation for being a "sunny" person with a big smile and a very friendly way of dealing with people. So it seemed fitting to use the sunshine as inspiration for my logo, bursting with rays of light.



The first incarnation of my logo was red and yellow, with very abstract shapes to symbolize the Sun. In 2003, it was renewed with calming blues and greens. In 2007, I decided to give it a completely new life, with circles to symbolize the beams of light. Red was re-introduced to the palette and that is the version you see now.

In addition, I detached the icon from the company name so each could exist independently or together. That's a flexibility I never had with the previous logos. You'll also notice the "n" inside the sun. Not only is it an initial for my name, it also symbolizes a magnet, to attract all good things.
